Patrick Mahomes shares a special bond with Travis Kelce and his girlfriend Taylor Swift. Last week, the Chiefs star quarterback went viral for his claims that the Blank Space singer is drawing plays for the team. Kelce shed light on the reality behind the quarterback’s claims on Monday.
During an interview with Chris Simms at “NFL on NBC,” Mahomes opened up about Swift’s love for the Chiefs. The quarterback said that the team might be in consideration to implement one of her plays. Talking about the same, he said:
“She asks a lot of great questions. She’s already drawing up plays, so we might have to put one in.”
During the latest episode of “Rich Eisen Show,” Travis Kelce talked about Swift drawing plays for the Chiefs. He said:
“She has just been so open to learning the game she didn’t know much about the rules and everything. And I think what makes her so good in her profession is that she’s so detailed in every every aspect of it from the words to the music to even the releases and the music videos and everything.” (1:26)
“She’s so detailed in a part of it that I think she was just curious about the profession, and I don’t think any of the plays have gotten to coach Reed. But if they ever do, I’ll make sure everyone knows it was her creation,” the tight end concluded.
Patrick Mahomes stands up for Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift against “distraction” claims
Patrick Mahomes’ claims for Taylor Swift drawing plays for the Chiefs came less than a day after the quarterback dismissed the idea of her being a “distraction” for the team. The All Too Well singer was labeled as a “distraction” for the Chiefs last season.
In the latest trailer of season 19 of “America’s Game“ docuseries, Mahomes took a stand for Swift against the “distraction” claims. Sharing his take on the same, the quarterback said:
“People act like it was a distraction, I was like, ‘No, this is just Travis, Man!'”
Before Patrick Mahomes’ statement, ESPN host Holly Rowe took Swift’s side and hit back at critics for trolling the singer for NFL coverage. With the NFL 2024 season almost around the corner, Chiefs fans are excited to watch the on-field reunion of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.
