Kelce spoke about the kiss in a Friday press conference
The kiss seen around the world: Swift and Kelce following the Chiefs’ win over the Ravens.Lapresse
Travis Kelce‘s Kansas City Chiefs are back in the Super Bowl. Kelce and company will face the San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to determine the champion of the 2023 NFL season — and the future Hall of Fame tight end will be entering this matchup with perhaps more motivation than ever before.
That’s because Kelce‘s girlfriend, pop superstar Taylor Swift, has been a fixture at Chiefs games throughout the season — and Kansas City‘s best stretch of performances all year has come at the perfect time, with Swift a regular attendee at playoff games. Her presence has given the Chiefs a lift as they pursue a second consecutive Super Bowl win, and a third in the past five seasons.
Travis Kelce is really living the dream right now with Taylor Swift and here’s proof
Travis talks about his journey with Taylor
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Kelce reflected on the months-long journey on which he’s embarked with Swift, the “Lavender Haze” songwriter who currently has five albums within the top 20 of the Billboard 200 music chart. Kelce spoke specifically about the kiss he shared with Swift on the field at Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium, where the Chiefs defeated the Ravens 17-10 in last Sunday’s AFC Championship Game.
“It’s another memory in the journey that we get to cherish,” Kelce said about the kiss with Swift. “I’m fortunate that I got all the support I need off the field.”
Kelce’s support group includes Swift, parents Ed and Donna, and older brother Jason — a fellow future Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee who co-hosts the “New Heights” podcast with Travis. Like Swift, Jason Kelce has been a viral presence at the Chiefs’ most recent playoff games, going shirtless for their win over the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round before rocking a Hawaiian shirt for the AFC title game in Baltimore.
Extra motivation in Vegas
Kelce told reporters that the presence of his loved ones throughout the playoffs — and, logically, in Las Vegas two weekends from now — is all the more “reason to play that much harder” when the ball is finally kicked off at Allegiant Stadium.
Some have speculated that Kelce will ask Swift for her hand in marriage following Super Bowl LVIII — especially if the Chiefs go on to win. For the third consecutive playoff game, Kansas City will be an underdog, as bookmakers have made San Francisco a two-point favorite. But that will add more fuel to the flame for Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, and Andy Reid — who stand on the precipice of an NFL dynasty.
