Rock and roll lifestyles and large sums of money have long made Formula One drivers famous. The rising fame of the game since Liberty Media’s securing of it has simply promoted blowing up the pockets of the greatest names in the motorsport. Out and out, the 20 drivers who make up the F1 grid procure around £205million every year, barring bonuses. But when it comes to salary in 2024, who gets the chequered flag? Here are the top five highest-paid drivers.

Max Verstappen – £42m

Ruling title holder Max Verstappen is the lead man both as far as track speed and agreement pay. In his Red Bull contract, the Dutchman receives a staggering £42 million per year.

Lewis Hamilton – £34m

Lewis Hamilton is without a doubt the most well-known driver on the Formula One grid. He also earns more sponsorship money than Verstappen does elsewhere. The Brit is at the flag end of his Mercedes contract before he does the change to join Ferrari, which has seen him land another blockbuster deal worth £50m every year.

Charles Leclerc – £26m

Charles Leclerc, the Scuderia’s current face, makes a cool £26 million per year. The Monegasque, who has won two races in 2024—one in Monaco and one in Italy—will be hoping that Hamilton’s arrival will help the team climb the grid even higher.

Lando Norris – £15m

McLaren star Lando Norris is as of now the nearest challenger to Verstappen and is practically the one in particular who could scratch the driver’s title away from the three-time best on the planet. The two-time race winner, on the other hand, still has a long way to go before he reaches Verstappen’s contract value.

Fernando Alonso, George Russell – £14m

Aston Martin’s main driver is the two-time world champion, who just signed a £150 million contract with legendary designer Adrian Newey. For the present, however, Fernando Alonso is still hunting of his subtle next success in an F1 race. On the other hand, George Russell, who will take over for Hamilton as Mercedes’ main man, makes a cool £14 million per year. The Silver Bolts will be shifting focus over to the Brit to come out on top in races next season.
