F1 has been around since the 1950s and over the years, has only got better and better. Today, it is seen as one of the most exciting sports in the world and the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has recently talked it up by referencing his retirement.

Lewis Hamilton has been competing in F1 since 2007. He is one of the biggest names on the grid and he genuinely feels there are not many things outside of the sport that could produce the thrill a driver experiences while driving in F1.

But the cool thing…, and it's probably why I'm still racing, is that it's not become such the norm that I don't feel it. If I was numb to it, that would really su*k, and I'd probably be doing something else. But I'd have to fly fighter jets or something to come anywhere near close.

Hamilton has made it quite clear that he out-and-out loves the pinnacle of motor racing. At 39, he is currently in the twilight period of his career and thus feels, it would be difficult for him to get the kind of thrill he gets from F1 away from it.

While Lewis Hamilton has compared F1 to fighter jets, he also really wishes for the general population to feel the thrill of driving an F1 car. Moreover, deep down he is well aware of the fact that this is just not possible considering only 20 drivers get to do it every year.

There are several ways in which the general population can drive at the racing circuits, but it is just not possible to do it in an F1 car.

For me personally, when I get strapped in the first time and they start up the car, I get the same bubbly feeling inside. There's so many moments that I still pinch myself that I still get to do this. It's really something I wish you could all feel and experience.

Hamilton is one of the most adored names in the world of F1. In certain parts of the globe, he is literally worshipped like a god, such is his influence over people. He will be repping the Red of Ferrari from next year and several of his fans are looking forward to it. The Brit himself has multiple times admitted to being extremely excited about his new venture.
