Jason Kelce recently shared insight into his brother Travis Kelce’s early relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift, revealing that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end was cautious about sharing the news with even those closest to him.

Travis and Swift went public with their romance last September when the singer appeared in his VIP suite at Arrowhead Stadium to watch the Chiefs take on the Chicago Bears.

In an interview on The Pivot Podcast, Jason Kelce explained that while he had some knowledge of the budding relationship, Travis kept things private, likely due to the immense public scrutiny Swift faces.

“There was a whole thing on the [New Heights] podcast about him trying to get a friendship bracelet to her, so I knew that there was something going on,” Jason said. “But I think he was very cautious about even telling me or anybody because the reality is she is under such a microscope.”

Jason added that both Travis and Swift were mindful of maintaining privacy and doing things respectfully as their relationship developed. “I think they wanted to make sure everything was done in a way that was respectful to people’s privacy, and I think they are still trying to do that even now,” he said. Jason, ever supportive of his younger brother, emphasized that he is “very happy for him” but remains careful about what he shares regarding the relationship, understanding how closely the couple is watched by the media and fans.

Swift’s first public appearance supporting Travis came on September 24, 2023, when she watched the Chiefs’ victory over the Bears. Since then, she has attended 13 of Kelce’s games, including the Chiefs’ journey to winning their second straight Super Bowl.

Swift is expected to be back at Arrowhead Stadium this Thursday as the Chiefs kick off their season against the Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs, led by Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, are aiming for a historic NFL three-peat this season, an achievement that has never been accomplished in the Super Bowl era.

As for Jason Kelce, the Philadelphia Eagles legend transitioned from player to analyst after retiring following 13 seasons. He has joined ESPN as a commentator, but he’ll have to wait until Week 5 before making his debut on Monday Night Football, when the Chiefs host the New Orleans Saints. Coincidentally, Jason will call another Chiefs game in Week 9 when Kansas City faces the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
