Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who is also the boyfriend of pop superstar Taylor Swift, has recently become involved in a unique venture outside of football—horse racing.
Kelce holds a “significant share” in a thoroughbred named Swift Delivery, a horse whose name intriguingly echoes that of his famous partner.
Swift Delivery recently made headlines by finishing second in the Toronto Cup Stakes held at Woodbine Racetrack.
Despite a slow start, the 3-year-old gelding made a remarkable push in the latter half of the race to secure a strong second-place finish, just behind winner Piper’s Factor, with Dresden Row coming in third.
The race demonstrated Swift Delivery’s potential on the track, particularly in the hands of jockey Sofia Vives, who was riding Piper’s Factor for the first time. “He proved today that he’s a champion,” Vives said of Piper’s Factor after the race.

Kelce’s involvement with Swift Delivery was disclosed just this past week by Team Valor International, the horse’s primary owners. While the exact size of Kelce’s investment remains unspecified, Team Valor described it as a “significant share,” signaling Kelce’s serious interest in the world of horse racing.
Swift Delivery’s record coming into the Toronto Cup Stakes was modest, with two wins in eight starts. However, the horse impressed its owners with a winning performance in a maiden race on June 23 and a subsequent victory in a July 19 allowance race. These strong performances prompted Team Valor to enter Swift Delivery into the $125,000 Toronto Cup Stakes, where the horse’s strong finish affirmed their confidence.
Interestingly, Taylor Swift herself will be in Canada later this year, as she concludes her Eras Tour with six dates in Toronto between November 14-23, followed by three shows in Vancouver from December 6-8. The timing could offer a perfect opportunity for the “two-legged Swift” to cheer on the four-legged Swift Delivery, further intertwining Kelce and Swift’s personal and professional lives.
Travis Kelce’s foray into horse racing adds another layer to his diverse portfolio of interests, showcasing his willingness to explore new ventures beyond the football field. With Swift Delivery proving to be a competitive presence on the racetrack, it will be interesting to see how Kelce’s involvement in horse racing evolves and whether Swift Delivery can continue its ascent in the racing world.
